Grilled cassava cake is traditional and popular street food in Cambodia. It is a snack made from the grated cassava root, freshly grated coconut, sugar, salt, and the final touch of sesame seeds, then grilled until golden brown. People enjoy this snack as a light meal or snack on the go.

Ingredients:
All you need to prepare this delicious and highly addicting snack or dessert is only five ingredients.
- Cassava
- Grated Coconut
- Sugar
- Salt
- Sesame Seeds

First, cut the cassava into a shorter length to make the following steps easier, peel the skin, and clean well under running water to remove the dirt; then place them in a steamer while the water is boiling, reduce the heat to medium-high, and steam until fork tender. Use a pestle and mortar to pound the cooked cassava, then mix with grated coconut, sugar, and salt.

Start shaping the cake into a round shape once the cassava dough has been thoroughly incorporated. The cake can be formed by hand, an egg ring, or any food shaper. Then grill the cake until lightly browned over medium heat. The aroma is exquisite! It’s so addictive!
