Steaming over medium heat for 20 minutes or less or until the fish is cooked through.

Deep-fry the thinly sliced ginger until crispy golden brown.


Sauce made with hot boiling water, salt, sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil.

- Peel the ginger and rise with water, then thinly slice and put it in a bowl.
- Cut the scallion white part and thinly slice, and cut the green part into 1/4 inch long.
- Optional, thinly slice chilies. Remove the seeds for less spicy.
- Cut the basa fillet into small pieces about 2 inches long. Then place onto a plate or bowl for steaming.
- Top with fresh sliced ginger, scallion (white part), and chilies.
- In a steamer, bring water to a boil and lower the heat to medium. Then place the fish plate or bowl in cover and steam for 20 minutes or until the fish is cooked through.
- Place a pan over medium heat, add the right amount of vegetable oil and the slice ginger, fry until golden brown and drain.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, pour in 1/2 cup of boiling water, salt, sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, and stir until dissolved.
- Transfer the sauce into a gravy boat for serving.
- Once the fish is cooked, take it out from the steamer and top with fried ginger, sauce and serve immediately with rice.
