This delicious Fried Breadsticks recipe is made from a simple dough that is deep-fried to golden perfection. Puffy and crispy on the outside, chewy and airy on the inside.

Ingredients: all-purpose flour, baking powder, table salt, granulated sugar, water, and vegetable oil.






Oil temperature is in between 320ºF-350ºF.


Youtiao (Chinese Fried Dough)
This delicious Fried Breadsticks recipe is made from a simple dough that is deep-fried to golden perfection. Puffy and crispy on the outside, chewy and airy on the inside.

Method
- In a large mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients and stir just they are all combined (not over stirring the dough).
- Coat the dough with vegetables oil and wrap with plastic wrap, and rest in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours or overnight.
- Dusting the workspace with flour, and dusting the dough as well.
- Use your hand to flatten the dough before rolling.
- Then roll the dough, and cut it into 1 inch wide strips (try to cut an even number of strips).
- Dip a bamboo skewer in water and gently press on one side. Then stack them two together and firmly press with a dried skewer.
- In a large pot, turn the heat to medium and heat the oil until it reaches 350ºF.
- Hold the two ends of each piece of the dough, and gently stretch it, and carefully put it into the hot oil.
- Once it float, start flipping until it turns light golden colour.
- Repeat those steps with the remaining Youtiao dough.
- Place them on the cooling rack and serve!
- Serving with your favourite sweet dipping like condensed milk, with soup or rice porridge and with Mung Bean Pudding.
